I have heard that hid kits don't last very long on bikes looking for someone who has or has had Hid kit on there bike to clear something up for me or should I just go with the xenon bulb?

I have my low beam 6000k and my high beam 3000k which is yellow. The 3000k looks almost pure white with a hint of yellow from opposing traffics view. From the riders view the output looks yellow and is way brighter than the 6000k. Either way i ride with both my headlights on and have not had any trouble from the cops.

What about during inspection when they check your high beams, any trouble there?

It should still pass since it is still going to be a hi beam...unless your adjusting the headlights.

I had hids on my previous bike for a year and a half. they always worked. 8000K was a little too blue for me but never had a problem with the cops because of it.

I want to get 2008 636 headlights and mount them on my 03 636 and put HIDs I also have HID's on all my cars they lasted about 2 years already with no problems at all!!!

HID's last way longer than xeon bulbs and are way brighter!
Legal temp. kits- 3000K (bright yellow)
4500K Stock HID's for BMW and Benz (yellow white)
5500-6000K (white with a slight tent of blue)
8000K crystal light blue NO WHITE AT ALL
10000K Dark royal blue

Illegal temp kits- 12000K and up colors would be purple, pink, green

Go on Ebay and get them!

I have the 6K kit. I love it no problems. Go with 6K or 5k-4.5K kit

I agree with what everyone said. I had the Silverstars on my last bike and it was a huge difference once I put the HIDs on it. Get them from DDM like mentioned above, good prices. I think the 6k has a good color, not too blue but still white, although I plan on going 4500k with my next set.

Is it illegal to have 3000k for low beam or high beam or both?

I haven't heard much about them not lasting long. Mine turned off ONCE in the whole year or so I've run them. I just turned off the bike and turned it back on and the light came right back on. I'm sure there's cheap out there though. I have the DDM tuning kit. Matter fact, I still have the other light just sitting in the box and it will fit yours (H7) I'll sell it to ya if you want it. It's a 10k. Looks like this. It's a light purple and white color. I like it
