In my opinion the only man alive who could give spies a run for his money on a production based motorcycle is Mladin, or Bayliss and in that order. Look at last years race at laguna seca where Mladin's times on a superbike would have put him pretty far up in the qualifying on the motogp grid. And Bayliss wasnt a slouch but his consistency is what made hime great. When the flag drops something gets into spies that is just amazing to watch, I think he will be your 09 WSBK champ at the end of the season because of his amazing speed and because even more so his amazing consistency.

AMA is not WSBK. I think Spies will have a tuff year but I hope the best for him.

He well better!

As for Texas,
(5 owners and counting?) Yet the Rebublic of Texas is the Closer!

Let us look into getting him a cape, shall we? Avec the bleu, blonde, rouge puet'etre? (I know I didn't spell that corretly....)

Forgive me, I am currently struggling with my infancy...

Cheers,
DReaux

WSBK: Byrne: There is a risk we won't get updates
Shane Byrne has admitted his hopes of winning this year's World Superbike title could come down to whether his Sterilgarda Ducati team can keep up with the development of their factory rivals.

The reigning British Superbike Champion slashed his odds on a title assault after a dominant performance during pre-season testing at Portimao, Byrne topping all three days, as well as leading the way in the wet and during a Superpole simulation.

Out pacing the factory Xerox Ducati team in the process, it means Byrne is being tipped for a surprise championship challenge this year, an objective he thinks he is capable of targeting too.

"I've won two BSB championships and I'd like to have a go at winning the world title,” he told the World Superbike website. “What I really like is that even with a non-factory bike you can be competitive.”

However, while Byrne is pleased to be currently on the pace, he admits he is worried about what will happen to a potential title challenge if Sterilgarda cannot maintain the development of their better-funded rivals for the season's entirety.

“The only risk is that you don't get any updates throughout the year and you get left behind by development. But at the moment we are right on the pace.”

Kicking off with a circuit he already knows, Byrne is nonetheless feeling confident about what will be his first full season as a World Superbike rider.

"We start off with four tracks I know well and so I'm pretty confident. In any case I learn quickly and I don't think I'll have many problems throughout the year. We've still got some more work to do but the fact that the bike, as well as the Pirelli tyres, are similar to what I used last year in BSB makes things easier."
time will tell

Hey Grinchy, is that a reflection, or a sticker located just above the Honda sticker on the rear of the bike….cause it looks like a small L.E.D. light bar…

Rea's style reminds me of collin.

As i mentioned before, i hope the non-factory ducs get real support so Shakey and the others can be contenders.

Big hopes for Spies but my guess is he will struggle this first year, to be in the podium i mean not to be top 7.

I doubt it but it's possible, would make sense if it was the Suzuka 8 hour bike but not on these!!!
