Anyway, Brit, you used to ride an R6 right? How different does the R1 feel? I might get one of those babies this year and I would like to hear your thoughts. I only ride on the track.
I don't ride on the track, just on the streets. First impressions on the R1 was that it was smoother in the throttle, and of course, it doesn't require as much throttle to perform equal to my level of riding skill that I had attained while on the R6. If that makes any sense at all.

Fuel mileage isn't as great though. 140 miles/tank vs. 160 miles/tank from fill up to fill up. ( thats riding the light for 20 miles ).

Oh, and the yoshi's scream. My wife can hear me turning onto our street 1/4 mile away from inside the house.

Seeing how he doesn't ride on the track, it wouldn't really add up for him to get an 09R1. This bike has plenty of power for what he does

More power = worse gas milage, I'll take the power anyday!

BTW, nice pick on the bike, I have the same exhaust and I love it.
Once you get above 10k rpm, thats where this bike really shines and pulls hard.
Where did you get your rear seat cowl? looks way diff than mine. I tried posting a pic but mine are all too big
