Engine rebuild

Who here is good with working on engines? I have an 84 Yamaha Big Wheel, and I managed to destroy the rings in it, So im about to order a new piston and rings but I have no clue what im doing since its 4stroke and ive only messed with 2stoke top ends, Anyone avail to help on a weekend coming up? Also because of its age bringing it to a shop is out of the question already asked a few and they wouldnt touch it because it was a liability if it broke.

i've dug into a few honda engines.

gotta clean workbench?

clean workbench, full set of metric sockets, needlenose, service manual, beer, & torque wrench are mandatory. wire brush, degreaser, dremel, ring file, & chicks are optional.

scratch that...chicks are mandatory...

Got all of the above but the manual and girls shouldn't be that hard to wrangle up. The 350 is fine but I never changed the airfilter on the 200 and after all the years it started breaking up and got sucked into the engine.

Haha well I had it since I was little, and all I was ever taught to do was was make sure it had oil and change the oil screen, my old man said to change the foam filter when the bike started to bog, well it never bogged it just sucked the filter in lol

good deal.
so, you've been sandbagging? cleaning & setting a carb takes a second day of maintenance school.

look up valve clearance specs, bolt torque values (head, cyl., etc), and i've also gotta recomend a properly sized cylinder hone & some high heat paint for any rusty bits.

anything worth doing is worth doing right.
