The last time this happened to me I called my mom. She did a great job but her costs were to high, air ticket plus meals for one week (not to mention the wife's discontent).
Anyway, if you find a place let me know, it might save me some trouble.

Believe it or not you can go to some dry cleaners that have a seamstress on duty and they will fix you right up for very little money. There is one on Huffmiester and Flour de Lis in cypress.

was about to look for the same thing.

for those of you that have used them, you guys satisfied with Jessie's work/prices?

Should most shoe repair places be competent enough?

I'd use Jessy's next to Motorcycles Unlimited over any shoe repair. He has done plenty of work on motorcycle leathers and does good work. Plenty of folks have had really good experience with him and his prices are supposed to be pretty dang good too.

I've used Marcello's in the Galleria before, but was overall not totally satisfied with the cost or the amount of time it took for them to get it done.

Lately I've used Shannon Nelson from Panther City Patches 817 454 1001. You have to ship them off to her, but I've gotten really fast turn around times from her and she also cleans/ conditions the leathers in house. Very satisfied with her and her work, especially the prices

Locally though, I'd recommend Jessy's over Marcello's or other shops here.

A place off Jones road replaced the zipper on my Spyke's for $40 and did it in 1 day.

There is also a very good lady located up north in Willis who not only replaced zippers, but can also custom fit leathers. She's a very, very talented lady.

You can contact her (Jol) at 936-520-1632 or info@catwalkleather.com.

Jol replaced all the zippers in my red leather suit and did a great job and quite inexpensively. Further, while she had my suit she noticed a seam that was coming loose and fixed that as well.
