chain converstion on a sportster

been kickn the idea round for a bit, what im lackn in is money, and knowledge (jokes aside). has anyone ever done one or tried? and yes i do know all the wonderful things im losing w a belt, and also all the things ill be regretting for gettin a chain. but i dont care. i love the look of a chain on a cruiser, not to mention the versatility of it. what started was i asked if there are any different pulley ratios for the sporty, one down in front and only different designs in the back.

help!

I saw that ridding home on 59 south a little after 5pm yesterday. MAD-MAN.
Slow down. I thought I was going to see down on the road.

i've got an atv/motorcycle jack you're welcome to use. i've been thinking about doing the same thing on mine, and it looks like my only obstacle is figuring out if i can use the hyosung gt650 cush drive w/ my rear wheel (gt is chain, gv is belt, go figure). i'd imagine it'd be much easier w/ a sporty just b/c there are so many that had chains from the factory...

If you haven't looked yet, try XLforum.net
They have done just about everything that you can do to a sportster from Buell suspension to Hyabusa brakes. They have a section on Café Racers (HAWT!) that should have what you are looking for. If not, then check the technical forums for tires and wheels.
They do great write-ups with photos in their DIY stickys. There are even a few members here on that forum.

Just my $0.02
