i saw one w/ 1800 miles on it go for $3k the other day, hadn't been wrecked. 10k mile bikes usually go for $3k or less (talking about for the 1200's, not including 600's). i'm looking at a '98 w/ 14k for $2k

just seems like a little bit much to pay for a totalled bike, then to ship it across country and rebuild. amazing job on the rebuild though sorry i can't help you w/ wreck info.

Well, I was looking for a brand-new bike, one to last me for years and years.
New 1250 Bandits are $9k OTD, and buying this one for one-third of that seemed fine. I'm not afraid of tearing a bike apart and rebuilding it; I've been riding for 30 years (I'm 45), so I feel I had what it took to do this, and it turned out beautifully.
The $5k I saved over buying new I can spend on all kinds of other stuff.
BTW, I would LOVE to see a 1250 Bandit for $3000.00.

Glad you like the Bandit. I too love mine. I've had it for 1 yr now and have 7800 miles on it. Mostly comuting to work but did get some track time in aswell. You might give it a try as it is capable enough to have good time with.
