Going to Scotland again next month for our bi-annual visit. The first time we went we rented a stick and I said never again. All we rent is automatics now because it's hard enough driving on the left side of the road. The last time we were over there I was starting to feel somewhat comfortable with it. I'm dying to hit some really good twisties we found last time on a bike some day.

I saw an early 90s 600 Ninja at a college there, a rich person must have owned it.

a 1983 Honda ATC70 (In 83 at the age of 3), graduating to a TRX125 @ 5 years old, then an old hand me down Cushman scooter that barely ran and had crappy brakes when I was 8, followed shortly by a Honda XR80 that i got in trade for the old Cushman when i was 10. By 12 years old i had mowed enough grass in the summer to buy myself a Honda Elite 50cc moped to ride. When that scooter was stolen 4 years later it had 14000 miles on it I never even got to ride it to school legally:( I replaced that bike with a street legal XR400 before finally graduating to a 2000 R6 in 1999. I put 45K plus miles on various 600cc bikes before i ever thought i needed(wanted really) a bigger bike and got a Triumph 955 Triple. . .I'm glad you did the smart thing and started on a 250cc bike, I can't speak for everyone, but I enjoy that pretty smile of yours in your avatar and would have hated to hear of anything happening to you, or anyone else for that matter. Unlike most, I've been in the 2 wheel game for the majority of my life, internal combustion engines are in my blood. . .

the only thing that bike destroyed was pistons, rings & cylinders. total POS motor, but the thing handles really well

2 strokes aren't that bad...you gotta tear into 'em to keep 'em tip-top, but you can run one on nitro & make twice the power at half the weight of a thumper.

Talking 250r Kawi

I have the 2008 250r Kawi. I love that bike I actually race it in Hurricane Alley Series and came in 2nd place in Stock ET. Down in Baytown, it run 70 on the track and I have had it up to 100 on 517. Oldman650r can speak for that The new look is awesome, my husband had the 650r and bless his heart, everyone that he was like mine. a 250. I had lowered it, put the 2 brothers on it, and put green lights through the entire bike. It is tough looking. If you can get your hands on one, get it. I have a great guy that can put the lights for it. He is amazing.

That's hilarious! They had to use a macro lens to take pictures of the tiny Apr.

I saw a guy on one of those on my way to work one day. Made more noise than my V-4.

i was wondering this myself when i was starting off, there are a few other options out there like hyosung and some cheap cheap companies. a major manufacturer should step back in the game in the u.s. and give the ninjas a little competition
