As mentioned previously in other posts, the salesmen were trying to make sales that were inappropriate for the potential customers. Most people buying their first bike have no clue what they should really be getting or even why.

That's the difference between making a sale or making a repeat customer.
that's why I come in the dealerships in rags.(t-shirt and jeans).
Sales person that profiles dont get the business and the ones that have professionalism and doesnt profile gets the business.
Ask Patty at Katy Yamaha.
I came in looking lost, but she went up to me without hesitation and ask if I was looking for anything specific.

Back on the topic, eximports. Selling wrecked bikes for retail prices.

I bought my bike there (59 south near Airline if not mistaken). Unfortunately they are not open anymore, they were aquired by Mancuso Power Sports.
I think they moved to Katy and they are now Katy Yamaha.

Well the prices are high but all the sales people approached me and answered alot of my questions whenever I was there. When I was looking at gear the guy working in the back came and had a long conversation with me about gear and other random . He was pretty cool. I didn't end up buying a bike from them but I would just say if you are in the market for a used bike don't even look in Houston, look outta town or even outta state. You would be amazed by what you find.

They're douche-tastic!

I've bought brand new bikes cheaper than what they want for 2yr old used bikes...

As for Eximports.... I bought my 2000 ZX12 from them when it had less than 500 miles on it in 2000. They were honest on my sell, price was about average, maybe a littl high for used. I looked up the records and found the original owner, contacted him and the story from him was the same as the story they gave me. 53 year old man who bought and realized it was to much bike. At the time the dealerships where at sticker only. My deal was as fair as I could expected it to be. Their service guys are PRICKS!

HOWEVER a customer of mine brought me a bike he bought from them. I did the first service on the bike after he bought it. After removing the fairings and such there was clear evidence the bike had been slid and repaired. Of course they said they had no knowledge of that and where not hearing any idea of taking the bike back. I find it hard to believe they didn't see what I saw.

Why not go with wha we know. I am sure Patrick from MotorCycles Unlimited can hook you up with what you are looking for. Give him a call he is all over this board.
