on another note whats the best way to get a bent bolt out?

1) Read the manual don't have one get one.

2) You said there was no washer when you changed the oil - look closely at the drain plug next time it is out the washer may be on it and pressed on so hard it looks like part of the drain plug nut. If its there it needs removed and replaced.

I had a 2003 Bandit put 36K miles on it changed the oil regularly thats about 10 changes never replaced the washer and it never leaked.

Have an 08 Busa washer needs changes every time or oil seeps out around the plug.

Good Luck

Do not over tighten the drain plug - threaded case is Aluminum it can be stripped easy (Same soes for your Spark Plugs) and careful not to cross thread.

I've never tightened an oil pan bolt with anything more than 15lbs/ft. Craftsman torque wrench ftw.
