Should be fine, where are you located? I've had a couple of my bikes passed when the plate was stuffed way up in there about 2 feet from the plate light. The law on inspection reads that it must have an LP light, but does not specify that the light and plate need to be together IIRC.

Ask the attendant before you pay to have it inspected so you don't waste your money. I imagine some will do it and some won't, only because they wouldn't want their info/credentials tied to the sticker should you get into trouble for it down the road.

You're fine b/t the pegs, I don't think you could find a cop to ticket you for that, it's practically the of the bike.

The only Texas law I could find with specific verbiage about plates is with regard to visability and the license plate light, where it states it must be clearly legible from 50 ft from the rear. (Transportation Code Sec. 547.322(f)(2): (1) illuminates the rear license plate; and
(2) makes the plate clearly legible at a distance of 50 ft. from the rear.)
The only other code I found was Transportation Code Sec. 502.409 and this basically refers to obstructing visability of the plates, nothing of which applies in my case.

you dont have to have a plate to pass inspection. as a former state inspector i know. but you do have to have one (a plate) to ride on the street. inspection laws are not the same as street laws in some cases (i.e. window tint)

as far as i know on plates. it has to be visible from the rear of the bike. thats all i know.

We run an axle mount plate with the inspection sticker on the SIDE of the bracket on 2 of our Bikes (96SRAD 04 Busa) and 15 minutes after having the GSXR inspected SRAD went to the DPS and asked a Officer if it was legal(it IS lighted) and he said "NO! Where did you get that inspection?" To which SRAD asked for specific PROOF, hmm turns out that there is NO law against WHERE you mount so long as it's visible and lighted. Also the inspection sticker DOES NOT have to be on a "Inspection plate" or even facing rearward the law states NEAR license plate.
On another note you have to realize that the fine for cheating or improperly inspecting can be $$$$$ so Inspectors are not willing to do something that MIGHT cause them some grief. IF they give you some friction ask them to pull out their copy of the inspection rules and show you specifically.
