i have a buddy that had a '94 z50 that he had since it was brand new.. he never once changed the oil (to my knowledge), never cleaned or changed the air filter. Crashed the bike at least 3 or 4 times everytime he rode it which was like every day... But the bike ALWAYS started up on the first kick every single time hot or cold summer or winter.

That bike as far as i know still runs like a champ today and was more than able to withstand his extreme lack of maintenance or less than great rider skills.

Because of that, i'd always go with one of these bikes! My '02 xr50 runs like a champ and i'm not easy on that bike by any means.. +1 for the honda

I completely agree about the Honda's being bulletproof... but it sounds like the oppinions are slanted do to lack of information and knowledge of the ttr...

Honda 50's have been around for probably 40 years.... the TTR's were just built in 2006... so of course there will be a larger favor of the honda just do to the percentage of publicity they have already received... but if you look at all the review done so far the ttr is designed to be lighter, faster, and more durable...

it will just take some time for them to come through into the limelight...

same with the new Suzuki Drz70 which was just released in 2008
