There is a thread on this already, try searching for it.

The Dunlop D211 is by far the stickiest tire I have ever used. Although very expensive. Also outlast any other tire.

The Pirellis have the best front on the market. They are a close second.

The Stones dont give me the feedback of the other two, but still a good tire. Lots of folks rave about them. They also have the highest payout.

The Michelins have great traction, but are very numb. They are predictable, and when they go off, they give good warning.

Bottom line, you'll get a ton of opinions here. People usually recommend the tires that either a: "Joe Blow Fast Guy" told me to get, b: The tire that person is contracted to, or c: a complete noob that doesn't even go fast enough to use the tire, or d: a person who truly has tried other brands of tires and did some real testing on different tracks.

Option "d" is very, very rare.

Personally, I like Bridgestone, have used them for the past 4-5 seasons and raced 'em and won, I'm not a fast guy, but I can use the tire for what it's meant for. I do get some support, but that's not why I like 'em.

Bridgestone lasts the longest, has fantastic edge grip (their DOT's have the edge grip that equals/ rivals most slicks), costs the least, and has the best support in the paddock, extremely predictable tire with great feel.

Dunlop lasts very well too, but not any longer than the 'Stones, and they cost a lot more. You're not getting any more, especially in the arena of support, but you'll pay more.

Pirelli is a sticky tire that has a history of not lasting very long and giving poor warning when they wear. They are also about as expensive as the 'Lops. The thing about them is that they are a good sprint tire, and now, they will have great support where they didn't in the past.

Michelins almost compare in price, but not in longevity, traction/ feel, or edge grip imho.

Now, ask about "what oil do you prefer" and see how many pages that goes!

It depends on alot of things but I think with the experience you have listed you shouldn't be concerning yourself too much with race rubber as of yet.

I'm with Patrick I like those 002 Pros.

NVMD, I just did the search on "tire" and "tires" and it only came up with this thread! Maybe it resets with the new year?

$415.98 for a set? WOW
Mine are $360/set + tax

You may also look into the Dragon Supercorsa Pro for $340/set. Good entry level racetire. Not quite as good as the Diablo Supercorsa, but it gets the job done for most riders.
