Not So Newbie....

Long story short, my son had a "get off" this week on one of my bikes "SV650" that I'm thinking will be a total loss when the insurance company get a look. So, I was bumping around looking for a replacement and found a link to the site from Motorcycles Unlimited. HERE I AM....
I'd call myself an avid rider, with 3 bikes er...2.5 right now. An "05" FJR1300, "02" Speed Triple, and the toy SV650. Log over15K a year through local rides and long weekend trips with a couple on gonzo runs a year.
Look forward to kicking around here.

FJR

B.S. -

It's a super bike, an extemely powerful engine, it handles very well considering it's size. You'll be comfortable touring all day, carving the twisties, or just rolling in town. It does produce some heat off the engine so summers in town are a beetch. It lacks a true sport bike feel because of the ride position but don't be fooled. Ride one, I think you'll be impressed. I have a hard time riding my others.

6' tall. Wind isn't really an issue. It has an ajustable wind screen. Raise er lower as you roll. I keep it down most of the time. Cold weather or blasting down the highway for long periods it's a life saver. They have laerger screens as after market items for those who need it, but never wanted to ride behind a barn door. Mine could be just a couple of inches higher. If your use to a sport bike screen though it'll be like a quite room for ya.
