? my plate hasnt come in and temp paper tag blew off

as of Sunday night i have an empty license plate bracket, i bought a new bike some months ago and still have no plate, went riding with a friend and some ppl off here (nice riding with you) then we park and one guy tells me my temp plate blew off somewhere down 59, bike being my only source of transpo at the moment i have to just ride dirty, any suggestions on how to get this straightened out quickly, i called the dealer about my plate she says somethin like "nov? the check has been cashed for your plate dont know why u dont have it yet.......hmmm no that check hasnt cleared yet i wonder why, let me figure that out and call you back", i also asked if they could send out another temp plate in the meantime, said she's check for me and of course she didnt call me back and when i called back its.."the lady that handles that has already gone for the day". Any helpful tidbits, if i get pulled over i guess ill carry extra paperwork to square that away but add that i have no license? eeeh

You can go in and get another temp plate; for cars the second overdue tag is yellow.

Carry the bill of sale or order sheet if you have a copy. So if you do get pulled over the cop knows the bike is legit and belongs to you.

I had the same prob a while back. I just took my insurance and bill of sale down to the county building and they gave me a temp tag for 25 bucks.

if he bought it in louisiana, then he probably has it registered there too... so he wouldn't have to pay taxes... if he tries to get a TX plate he would have to show taxes paid...

right?

hope buying out of state was worth the hassle...

not right? i thought the same thing but from my license address etc they said it had to be registered in Tx so they got in touch with harris county so after i talk to the dealer in the morning im thinkin i should be able to go to a harris county court house and get a temp fix til the plate finally gets here, we'll see
