Welcome to the Family!

Sounds like your mind is made up, but keep in consideration a new model will have more problems then a used bike. And if you need a part, it will need to be pulled off the assembly line, so you'll be bikeless up to two weeks.

The reason they recommended a used bike, the economy is putting a hurt on people and most do not ride their bike aggressively all ready; they purchased the bike as a means of looking cool etc... Spending alot less on a bike, maybe having to put a little into it to bring up maintenance etc would be a better investment then losing 2k from rolling a new bike out the door.

Engines and transmissions are pretty much bulletproof, buying independant/personal you can still use a CU check to make payments. Make sure the plastics fit correctly, the closer to oem the better the bike would be(meaningly it hasn't been touched too much or damaged/repaired by an owner), and even tire condition. If the sides of the tires were untouched, former owner was a poser meaning the bike was likely hadn't been on long highspeed rides.

Either way, opinions wrong strong on here and everyone is speaking from their experience. Dont let this detour your thoughts.

I would recommend going to some meet and greets and inspecting the bikes, speak to the owners and ask them/track riders what problems they have seen with their bikes. None of them are not prone to breaking.

Most importantly, always wear your gear and be safe out there!

Im sorry...

But when people actually 'introduce' themselves, I take time to read about them and learn about them. Otherwise, its just another generated post count for people that want

<<<<<this number

to be higher. I feel the post count number shouldnt exist; that way only people not in a race to reach a certain number aren't posting in random sections they really aren't contributing towards.

Regardless, I did my research cuz I like to be able to help when I can. That way if you have a problem or whatever, people can be networked to others in their area or help can be offered on a day off to fix bike problems etc.
