bridgestones have very sticky slicks.....

they are by far the best bang for the buck slick out there.

If you want to compare apples to apples, get a new set of each. That's what we do each year when evaluating tires.

We get one set of each brand/ type tire we're using and test 'em at Cresson.

Bridgestone's been on top for the past 4.5 years, this year we're not even going to bother checking the other brands.

Oh, I thought you were getting a set of take-offs from Bridgestone and a new set of Dunlops. I must have mis-understood.

Have fun! I always enjoyed testing tires. It's best when the vendors are there though, the only time it happens when all of them are there are on CMRA practice days (Fridays) before the race weekend. So we had to shovel in a ton of laps with tire changes in order to get a full day's evals going.

Often, we'd just test at Cresson and make the changes with pressures and such based on what we thought we should do with a few well-placed phone calls mixed in. Never did get very good support from Pirelli. That will change this year!

Tires aren't near as bad on a motard, I ran a set of Supercorsa's on Larry's Aprilia SXV4.5 for months running 46's and 47's and MSRH, took them took Oak Hill a few times at a 29 - 30 pace and then came back to MSRH. Even with no tread they still hooked up pretty well. The tires are still on the bike. Lol.

Buy the SAME brand and type of tires. Other wise your running in circles.

If you are comfy w/ changing geometry do what Tom says.

Keith, he's on a motard, not a lot of geometry changes with that.

Keith does have a point, with some brands, we had to move ride height, adjust damping/ rebound/ etc a bit (like Bridgestone has a harder carcass than the Pirelli and we had to tweak a lot to get them to feel right).

I just can't see that being much of a problem on a motard.

I dunno, Motards are light as and when I raced them the geo. changes made even more of a difference. You can still change F&R ride height. Thats enough to accomplish most anything at the club level.
