Welcome Me, Darnit!

Hey guys what's up? I'm new to the forum...just got introduced to you guys today, and I've been reading up while here at work (nice, isn't it? )
So anyways, I've been in the import car scene for a while...but got out after I wrecked my car and had to buy a new one--anyways, I've been thinking about learning to ride since I was in highschool but never really had the oppurtunity to get into it. Now that I have more time at work, I plan on reading up on the forum and after the spring semester is over (UofH), plan on taking a Basic Course and getting my license.
I was a moderator on ephatch.com for a few years--so I'm pretty familiar with the way things work around here. I just really want to get to know a few good people, make friends and learn as much as I can. So say hello!!

Amanda

Thanks for the warm welcome guys...
Ok I know this has been done over and over, but must of you are guys--so for a girl (I'm about 5'5" 130lbs) what would you reccomend for a beginner bike? I'm gonna buy my first one used but thinking about what I should be looking for/at. Been checking out the street 250s so far.

That's exactly what I've been looking at ;-)
Had been looking at the other company 250s (Suzuki, Honda) but they are more of the cruiser style...my "dream bike" is more of a sport bike (R6, CBR600, etc etc) so I thought the Kawaski would get me used to that type of riding more than the Suzuki GZ250 or Honda Rebel.
I'm guessing you all agree?

Welcome, I am new to this forum too, but riding for long long time. Ninja 250 is a very good choice. The new one is around 3k and the resale value is great too, people always looking to buy these bikes. Just ride it for six month to one year and then get yourself bigger bike. Try http://www.awesomecycles.com/ for your MSF course, they are the only one in Houston who has ninja 250 so you can get a feel of it too.
