Hi everyone!

I just got a 2000 Gixxer 600. I'm still waiting on my gear to come in, so I haven't been able to ride it a lot, yet. :BangHead:

Just a quick question...the operating temp. on the bike got up to 230 deg. F. Is this normal? According to Stubbs, it is, but I don't know. I thought operating temps were around 180 deg. F?

Anyway...just wanted to say HI!

just keep an eye on the oil light or any other indicator lights. My 600 runs around 185, but that temp soars in traffic with no airflow over the radiator. BTW, welcome

in traffic its normal but after it reaches a little bit above that the bike might shut off so try to avoid riding in heavy traffic. its not a car so the bike depends on air through the cooling system to stop it from overheating.

Welcome!

Y'all have temp gauges?! I bet Harley doesn't want us to know how hot we get. Once in traffic the engine got so hot it melted my left shoe on the clutch cover.
