Who Would You Hang With?

If you could spend the afternoon boolsheeting with anyone, living or dead, who would that be? Now, here’s the catch – I only want to hear of the motorcycle types here. Yes, I know that Jesus, Gandhi, and Hitler would all be fascinating to drink a beer with, but none of those guys were motorcycle types; save those people for another thread. I wanna hear about how you’d like to talk shop with Lawrence of Arabia, John Britten, Jarno Saarinen, Kenny Roberts, Sr., Mick Doohan or Troy Bayliss or someone like them. No, this person doesn’t have to be famous; if your grandpa was AMA district 37 champion in 1953 something, and you’d like to hang with him for a while, post that up ‘cause that’s cool, but if he was runner-up at his local dirt track in 1966, that’s cool, too.

For me it’s tough to single one person out: I would be happy with Mike Hailwood, Steve McQueen or Bob Hannah as any one of these guys would blow me away with their sheer coolness and awesome moto adventures.

Okay, so who is it for you?

Can't find the link, but there was info about a guy on a bike who rode across the U.S.--kept a journal. It seems like someone here said they met him when he came thru the area. Sorry. Wish I could recall his name. Anyway, I'd wanna talk to him.

+1

I remember that journal! I thought it would be boring, but I found myself reading every single word of it!

Mines not as cool as some of yours, but mine would be my pops. Heard way back in the day he had one of the fastest suzuki's around, also heard stories of him jumping canals and levees when he was younger to get away from the 5.0. There was a suzuki shop back home that had a poster of him on the wall for about 20 years but they have long closed and I'm not sure what happened to the poster but it would be awsome to have

Joan of arc. She would have a motorcycle if they existed

I bet she could pave the roads with wisdom and awesomeness....
