I was recruiting today as usual and spoke of the number of members we have and was sure to tell the individuals about less active members.

I was curious so I ran through some of the member lists and there are alot w 0 posts w their name.

I dont want to sound like Im pen pushing, but is there a screening or filter for inactive members after a while that are deleted? I was curious was the active number member count might be around; many dont post but observe.

Just a thought...

I would think an automated inactivity purge. Send an email to all with no activity for 90 days. If they don't respond, they are cancelled. It's not like it's hard to sign up if you're legit, right?

What does the forum server provide in the way of this service?

Someone enlighten me - is keeping inactive accounts such a big deal? What does it matter if there are 5000 people with accounts that never post? Other than housekeeping, does it affect sever space or bandwidth or something?

Probably doesn't affect anything but housekeeping, but maybe it impacts something more I'm not aware of, like cost of server space. Who knows!!!

this was discussed last week i think. if i remember right solracer wasnt up for erasing non posting members in case they were just browsing.

purging for in-activity is another thing.
