Magic Johnson To Run Superbike Team?

Magic Johnson To Run Superbike Team?
by dean adams
Saturday, January 03, 2009

Rumors linking former NBA star Earvin "Magic" Johnson to a new Superbike team hit the rev-limiter on New Years Eve Day and are still on the peg today.

Rumors are traveling like wildfire at the Anaheim Supercross opener this weekend that a representative of Johnson is in talks with several manufacturers to possibly run a multi-rider Superbike team in 2009.

nah, hopefully he'll run it like jordans suzuki satellite team. Jordan uses a management company to run the team and Bazzaz to turn the wrenches. he just shows up from time to time.

Bazzaz doesn't turn wrenches, they have a regular crew. Ryan Landers and James Compton being a couple that I know of. Bazzaz is the electronics.
Dunno whats going on for next year, but I'm pretty sure Jordan is racing this year.

a couple of years ago people were that there was no one to fund the teams, mostly directed toward red bull, now red bull jumped in and seems like there is more to follow.all is good i think the more teams the better the competition......

on one hand i wish it was former riders sponsering basketball teams, not the other way around...but hey. on the other hand i wont complain. looks like it may be a trend starting.

if it gets popular for nba, nfl & mlb guys to have their own teams we could end up with alot of new bikes and riders on the grid!

QUICK! whos got a bike and a trailer? ill make a nice logo, we put a #22 on the bike and we get someone to call emmit smith with an offer! paydirt!

My thoughts exactly.

Lets get some fast local riders, put a team together, and make an offer to an athlete who has a load of money but nothing to do with it.

Whose got David Beckham's number?
