You can just remove the exhaust and heat wrap it if its so close to your oil cooler I would really recommend it I wrapped my truck headers and it was very low tolerance If the headers fit, they will fit with wrap on them( and the whole exhaust.)

well aware the kits are most of the time incomplete dude. They come with wires, connectors , spark plug, toggle switch, what they dont tell you is you need a distrubutor or buy a coil which i am now trying to think how to stick the plug in my exhaust perma install and how to install the coil....

Personally I wouldn't be doing that stuff on a bike. It may look cool on some cars...but with a bike everything is all right there together...IMO you would be asking for trouble.

I always thought it would be cool to have something that would throw a flame when you are challenged by a fart can tuner car when you hit the gas.

true that, the programer is the way to go.
When I changed my exhaust, the mechanic told me for max results, add the programer with my new exhaust.
Man, I can tell the difference, more power & response, no backfire or poping
Had mine did at 2 wheel toyz by Rudy. ftw

with no remap its possible because less backpressuer allows more air to pass out of the combustion chamber and allows air into the chamber(basically more air)

more air + same amount of fuel = lean

It would have smoked even if you had not painted it. There is a "burn-in" phase on the heat wrap. It smokes and smells pretty bad, too. It will eventually stop. Water does not effect it.

Yeah I wrapped my factory exhaust one with out paint and it did smoke more like steam though, the painted on smoked like a quart of oil just hit my engine.

WHAT I was saying if I had more fuel to make it run rich with the power programmer if more fuel will make it into the exhaust thus easier for ignition
