Taking requests for '09...

The LSTD schedule has been out for a while now, the holidays will be done by tomorrow, and I'm sure everyone is ready for next season's track days.

Check the site at www.lstd.com for the whole schedule, then email me to tom*at*lstd*dot*com to give me your requests to corner work in trade for track time.

You can work a full day and earn a full day credit, have someone work a full day for you while you ride all day, or work a half day for a half day credit (like work am and ride pm).

Preference is given to Motohouston members in good standing, those that worked reliably for us in the past, and MH members with those requirements get first "dibs" on dates/ times to work!

One more month to get your track pipe hit!

Filling up fast, get your requests in soon if you want to be in this year. Also, when emailing, don't forget to send me your contact information, can't put anyone down without it

and don't forget guys, this is a commitment to not only the staff of LSTD but, also to yourselves and all the riders who enjoy coming out to ride. with out you guys doing the corner working, we wouldn't be able to have people out riding.

this is one of the most important roles at a track day event. often times, the instructors and other riders do not see everything that happens on the track, whether it be a run off, a crash, or even some unruly riding by others. we all rely on your watchful eyes and concerns.

i'm sure that tom will write a book on cornerworking but, for the short version, basically, your a track marshal of sorts, you'll keep a watchful eye on the surroundings of your area for riders being courteous to other riders, making sure that no one is acting a fool, if you spot dangerous riding, we want to know about it, if you see someone ride off the track or crash, we NEED to know about it so that we staff members can make a decision on what to do whether it be stopping the session to attend a downed rider, or attending to someone who may be riding carelessly of dangerous. you are the eyes of the track.

thats awesome, just please make sure that when you sign up for corner working, you know that all attendees are counting you (you in general) to show up. Plus, it's FREE track time, i did it my whole first year of track riding. It helps to see people hauling through the turns.

Thanks James, you pretty well summed it up there.

Those who are sending in requests to work, I may not reply to you right away, I have other schedules I'm working with as well. When I get some finalization to them, I'll get those emails out.
