Yup turned in my application to Sugar Land and Frisco (north of Dallas) Those are the only places I've been able to turn one in so far. I've also been keeping an eye on Austins page to see when they start. I went to the HCC fire academy. It's at the HFD training site w/ all HFD instructors. You a FF?

And if you really wanna know who pays good and is hiring right now it's Mesquite. You start at 46k, once ur out of the academy it's 48k and keeps going up. 5 year FF makes 59k! That's crazy and you won't find that kind of money here in Houston. I don't have enough college hours for that though and I'm only EMT, not EMT-P which is required for there.

its just hard to leave a job that pays more than twice what any fd will ever pay me, but im really not happy in this field...so back to scool i go.

thaz up...a white dude cant rush into a burning building to save a baby to get a paycheck and feed his family?!?!? THE NEW MAN! WTF! rofl. haha.

my new years res is to quit being a pushover to certain people, and not be so quick to comprimise more than i should. its one thing to be understanding or go out of your way to help folks, its another to lay down and get walked on when they get used to it.

ive allready started this. my boss is always late with paychecks, well the other day i wrote an email for my co-worker and i, telling boss we've had it and werent going to come to work if he ever had outstanding payroll due to us...

...that would have caused him to violate his SLA with one of our clients and possibly lose the contract...we were so scared he'd get and fire us...

...he dropped what he was doing, gave up on BS excuses and came in that day and paid me my past due check, *and* another check which was a few days from being past due. needless to day im bankrollin on two checks after being broke for a month and im very happy about that. i may even get *another* check in a week, because i may have scared him into paying us just a few days after we invoice again instead of within two weeks.

other than that, i need to take more time for myself and take care of myself more.

mine's is to lose my gut, and hopefully get control of my bills/debts to prep for another child. Wife's not pregnant, but it would be nice to have a bro/sis for my lil girl, plus wife's been wanting another baby...

a guy in austin didnt get hired last year, so he sued austin fd and won. they then gave everyone a payraise and decided they would only hire minorities on the next hiring run.

no white guys
