even if you feel confident and experienced, bike is maintained there are so many variables and unknowns that create disaster, Bolt or trash in the road, unexpeceted mechanical failure and heaven forbid rollin down a back road 130-160 and a dog or some animal crosses the road thats a recipe for doom

I missed a small turtle by about a foot one time flying through a corner. Came a couple of feet from an armadillo, and there have been a couple of snakes that have slithered across my path. At the rate of speed that I was going I hate to imagine what would have happened if I would have hit any of them.

81 miles from 242 o yankees, so everyone is comfortable around the 200 mile in a day trip, mapping out a few here

I've got a good life insurance package from work; if the laws of physics write me a ticket, the wife and kids will be pretty secure financially.

Then I thought about it a little more. Of course I always want to make it home safely to the family, but the money ain't thing if something goes wrong. Eventually, some dude will show up, bang my wife, beat my kids, kick my dogs and spend as much of the insurance money as he can get his hands on. **** him, I ain't giving anyone that chance if I can help it.

Just gotta think it all the way through ... the possible outcomes without you around. But yeah, I sometimes come up with weird .

Sorry, I shouldn't add to the thread-jack - sounds like overall it was a great ride and that's the point.
