I have seen this first hand on SMRs...I was faster in my 350z through the corners than the bikes could run. I have 4 tires and 4 sets of brakes. The bikes can only lean so far over so getting through a corner faster takes a lot of work on a bike. You push it too hard and you lose traction and run out of tire. It is funny when people have the misconception that bikes are faster but it is all a perspective thing. True in a straight line, they are faster but the curves is where all the time is gained.

Not everyone here has seen you drive! I have, and saw it up close at last years BBQ! You were throwing it down! And I used to think the same about bikes vs cars! Few and far between, yet you get a great car and a driver like you and now you have something!

Still like bikes better though!

Great video and narration. It's great to hear him explain where the bike has the advantages versus the car. The car was quicker by 3 seconds on a 44 second course... that's huge.

At TWS (Texas World Speedway), I can run 1:54's in the GT-3 on michelin pilot sport cup tires. They are a hyper aggressive street tire, likely the equivalent of the Bridgestone 002 Ride Smart. We have racers on the board that beat me handily out there on those tires.

At MSR-H, I run 44's if I remember correctly with the same tires. But again, there are racers on the board that would have no trouble beating that time on a similar tire.

If we are comparing stock car configurations to stock bike, I think the GT-3 has the edge. The pilot sport cups are the stock tire. I think it would be a challenge for anybody but the best riders to get that kind of time out of a stock bike with the factory tires.

Why a half wet course? Not fair to the bike.

All this comparison testing is not really testing. It's proving what is scientifically known.

Bikes have faster acceleration from a standstill

Cars have better acceleration once drag overcomes power to wieght ratio

Cars transition better from left to right, bikes take time

Bikes cut a closer corner and take up less track space (i.e. slalom course,m real world staying in your lane)

Cars handle way better at the limit of traction on comparable tires

In the not so scientific realm, cars inspire confidence cause they can be taken over the limits of traction with no repurcussions

That's why I ride bikes now. I am mid pack on a sportbike on the track. I am also crapping my pants 1/4 of the time, and having a blast. Put in me in a car and I am scary fast, but it kinda bores me cause I feel I am in complete control. I tried autocrossing and SCCA and BMWCCA roadracing before bikes. Always had top times for my class driving POS's and walked with a trophy at every event. But when I hit the track on a bike I was in heaven....totally addicted. Haven't driven a car fast for years now. Bikes FTW, just for the scare / adrenaline factor.
