The track pipe is about to claim another addict, I can feel it coming on....

From a last year newbie, the advice I can give and that has served me very well is:

1. Leave your ego at home, there are girls at the track that will make you look like a fool. Ego = breaking godsuki rule #1. Leave it at home cause it is very disrespectful and nobody likes it.
2. Listen to the instructors, they really do know what they are talking about, they will keep you safe and show you how to haul ...
3. Try to weed through the BS advice, there is a ton that you will recieve from everyone. I have stuck to the senior members on this forum and done really well, but watch out for the BS.
4. DON'T TRY TO GO FASTER THAN YOU ARE CAPABLE. The speed will come, but not on the first couple of track days. It took me all year last year to not get passed like a fool every session, not that I still don't get raped but don't let it bother you, just focus on getting it right when you get it right the speed just happens.
5. DON'T GET HUNG UP ON GETTING YOUR KNEE DOWN. Once again if all the mechanics are right your knee just hits the ground, will scare the out of you the first time. Focus on getting the mechanics right.

Anywho, my two cents... Hope it helps you, someone told me all this stuff and it helped me so there you go!

Good luck! Hope to see you out there.

I seem to remember that you and I were similar size (maybe not) but if you're a biggun', I've got some leathers you can borrow, and I think I have some old gloves you can have.

LMK, and congrats on getting a free track day

You could come out to the golf course and get a taste of some real speed. If I could get a fiddy on the track I would set new lap records!
Not realy

No worries, I'll probably be getting a new suit this year, so the old one (which is a custom suit and was a sponsorship deal) will just be for backup and TMGP stuff... so it'll be around.
