Exclamation Wreck at the End Zone last night

So as you all know, I'm leaving for Iraq on Tuesday and last night was my little farewell shindig; me and a bunch of friends at the End Zone hanging out getting drunk and partying one last time. We're all sitting outside on the patio when a friend of mine is about to leave because she has to go to work soon (its close to 10pm), hasn't had a drop of alcohol the entire night, says her goodbyes and goes to leave. As we're sitting outside on the patio we suddenly hear a crash in the parking lot, check it out only to see my friend get out of her car and theres a downed cruiser with 2 people on the ground.

Guy was driving, his woman on the back, hauling through the parking lot clipped the front end of my friends car and both went over the car. Neither one of them had any gear on except for some chaps. Fortunately for both riders, it only happened in a parking lot and they didn't have any life threatening injuries. The worst of it seemed to be the guys leg which appeared to be almost severed below the knee. I know this because some idiots in the parking lot were actually trying to move him and when they picked up his leg, he screamed in pain and right around the middle of his shin it just kind of went limp, sort of dangled there.

Cops and ambulance eventually came out, confirmed that my friend wasn't drunk and hadn't even had a single drink, she was cleared of everything and found innocent. The riders are both lucky it only happened in the parking lot and not on westheimer or anything like that.

I don't get why some riders don't weigh consequences with actions. If my wife is riding with me, you better believe I consider most actions with the possible consequences...

ie. will this moment of speeding excessively be worth the risk involved?

I try to ride like that period. I'm glad to here they didn't die, but its sad it happened anyway.

Glad your friend was ok and that the two idiots flying through the parking lot without gear are fine.

Yes, glad your friend is ok. I think people haul through parking lots too dang fast, and too dang inconsiderate. You should always use prudence through parking lots, if on bike or in cage. Remember, you may not be at fault, but it will still be your problem.

Should never move anyone injured, best to wait for qualified personell. The way society is now, that guy can sue that person who tried to help him.

It was a jab at the board custom of assuming that each and every incident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle is the other vehicle's fault. The board response on this occasion is very different because the story is being relayed by a member who knows the car driver. On any other occasion, I'm sure that the general presumption would be exactly the opposite (to be fair, this is not true of everyone, just a tendency).

Glad Ur friend is ok, but everyone is not 2 people on a bike are hurt, not saying anything, just usually there are 3 sides to a story like this, his, hers, and the truth, I,m sure he has a totally different story to tell, just my .02 almost all stories like this are very biased

Yes. Didn't mean to ignore the injured rider. Typed "everyone" on autopilot.

Would have been better expressed as "Glad your friend is OK, hope the riders' injuries are not severe and wish them a rapid recovery." which is true. Was not intentionally callous to their misfortune.

glad your friend is allright, and I do second the motion about the invite though! Yeah ill remember that next time you want to throw yourself out of a plane or something.

And yes to Ogre's defense, his view is how most cage/bike collisions are seen when posted here, unless the cage is someone somebody knows.
