Just a few questions *n00b*

Ok im not really exactly "new" but i do not know every single spec of every single bike.. i just have a couple of questions about certain bikes.. ok when people say k3 gixxer, does that mean 2003? my buddy who has an 03 told me that it doesnt pertain to the year model but to the generation? if correct please explain. also would an 04 gsxr 600 be a better bike than an 03 gsxr 600? i'd like to know what areas each bike shines in or is the 04 just a flat out better bike? i do like the 03 styling but the 04 is a bit more tempting due to being newer and a little more sporty looking. i realize that either bike could be better than each other a good rider vs a squid. well thanks for the help in advance.

yes the Kx after the gixxer does in fact designate the motor family evolution and is not tied to the year of manufature. It has to do with the changes they make in the design of the engine it may mean something different with the throttle bodies, valves or almost anything about the motor, however that may not be the only thing they change about the bike during the evo change

yes the k3 refers to a 2003 gsxr, now as far as honda f2, f3 i believe those are models and not years. i think the 04 has inverted forks and isnt so big so that would be my choice, i loved my 03 until i got my 07 that is

yeah i was a big kawi fan until they started doing the undertail exhaust, which is cool but not my personal preference. i rode my brothers 05 600, and i love it, it feels pretty good as far as what i can tell, but i wanna ride my buddies 03 600 to see which has a better feel for me.. i was thinking about a 250r or a 500 for my first bike but im a little bigger of a guy so i think a 600 would be just fine

on another note, congrats ben hopefully you get your r6 soon, and i can get my 600 so we can cruise it up here in cc. my brother is always looking for people to ride with if you wanna ride with him

Ok arguing which brand is the most reliable is really pointless just about everything is someone's own opinion. You can not even argue reliability on current models when they haven't had time to show flaws besides recall issues. Now if your basing it off of old models that does not speak for their current ability to be reliable, especially since every new generation goes through very serious overhauls almost making them a completely different bike or at least a whole different level from the previous model. Needless to say you can argue each ones ability on the track vs. each other because its a fact each year magazines do shoot offs proving which one has the best track abilities. Really only a very serious rider and track professional would ever be able to tell the difference of the bikes I believe I read 95% of riders would not be able to push the bike near its true ability (thats is not a percent I can stand behind) So really go ride one pick the one that feels good to YOU and looks pretty to YOU.

I don't think anyone answered you first question! An 03 GSXR is the same bike as an 04! There really is no difference they look the same with the exception on color scheme! The changes occured in 05.
