Short Notice: USMC & Active Duty Army SGT Michael James Cornett

This is very short notice, tomorrow morning, but hope some of you can still ride with us.

Sgt. Michael James Cornett, 30, died Dec. 10, 2008 in an automobile accident. He was stationed in Ft Riley.

Sgt. Cornett graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston in 1997. He served his country at Twenty Nine Palms, Calif., and Campy LeJuene, N.C., while in the U.S. Marine Corps, and most recently at Fort Riley with the U.S. Army.

He had many overseas assignments that included Okinawa, Taiwan, Thailand and the Caribbean Islands. Most notably, he served two combat tours in Iraq; one with the Marine Corps and one with the US Army. He served his country with distinction and was honored with many awards and decorations.

Funeral is at American Heritage Funeral Home, next door to HNC at 10:00am.
Internment will be Tuesday Dec.09, 2008 at 1430 hours Houston National Cemetery
