i get tunnel vision sometimes, and that scares me the most

the fact that i could be looking directly at a problem and not even realize it's hazard is a scary thing

i know there's been a few times when i've had close calls by not paying attention to what's going on

Being hit from behind at a light/stop. I have been almost plowed down twice. Once by a dumptruck. It is a miracle that I saw what was coming and was able to move over enough to the right not to be run over, but I was only by a hair. And both times it was Men drivng, imagine that!! LOL!!!

I didn't have that shirt on either day!! And no worries I do have a sence of humor!!

Ok. On another note. I see guys on sportbike all the time w/o a helmet on, on the freeway and such. How do you stand it? I have never ridden over 20 mph and not very far w/o a helmet before today. I rode from about 30 miles today w/o one because I wanted to pick up the F2 that had been at my friends house. Long story short my helmet was locked inside and I had no other eay to get home but the bike. Anyhow I had to pull over a few times, because my eyes watered so bad and my ears hurt. I just don't see how ya'll do it. It is an experience that I hope to never repeat.

In almost 29 years of riding I've been run into by a car from behind twice:

The first was almost 20 years ago at a stoplight in New Orleans. I wound up on the ladies windshield and the bike was pushed almost completely under the truck in front of me. Tore my shoulder pretty good but aside from some bumps and bruises that was it.

The second time was 8 years ago in Copperfiled. As I was pulling away from a stop sign on West Rd. the lady behind me bumped me, it was only a 5 mph tap but it knocked the bike out from under me. The best part was there were 2 motorcycle cops parked the next block up that saw the whole thing.
It was great watching them read her the riot act!!

So I guess what makes me nervous is a woman driver behind me.

My biggest fear is not returning home at the end of the ride... whether it's because of dog around the corner, a car pulling out in front of me or my own stupidity. A good ride is one that I come home from and can give me wife a kiss hello when I get there. :icon_bigg

Stevo, that was perfectly stated.
Wife or not, just coming home from a ride is the best thing.
And come to think of it, even if you do wreck your bike(like me recently)
if you still get to go home and talk about it it's still great.
