WSB: Rossi v Bayliss - it's on!

Quote:
Spanish mag Solomoto says a Rossi - Bayliss World Superbikes clash is going ahead!

WE'VE HEARD many reports flying around this morning that Valentino Rossi has agreed to a one-off appearance in next year's WSB series - and he's going to take on Troy Bayliss!
According to our friends at Spanish mag Solomoto, the duel is set to take place during the second round of next year's championship at Losail circuit, Qatar, on March 14th. Rossi is set to ride a factory WSB-spec YZF-R1.

Imagine that! Rossi going elbow-to-elbow with the WSB boys, along with Bayliss, who's making a special one-off appearance. It's the stuff that dreams are made of.

!
I'll be the first to eat a big slice of humble pie

I think what started as flattery on Rossi's part towards Bayliss has been taken up and turned into reality .......... HOPEFULLY

My money is on THE DOC if it happens

O-M-G...........

Who needs AMA when you got a race like this to look forward to?

The track itself, you figure would favor Bayliss. But then again.......this is Valentino Rossi we're talking about.

Given there are no problems with either rider during the weekend (i.e. mechanical failure, crashing or the r-word) it's too close to call. But then on the other hand.......if this really goes down, Bayliss has nothing but time to mentally prepare for a one weekend return to WSB to face the greatest motorcycle racer in history. Where as Rossi has to worry about the GP series.

This looks like something that so many of us will begin to over analyze. I for one am already a victim.............I don't care who wins, because I like them both. I'm just praying to the motorcycle Gods for a good, race long fight to the end.

I just hope that somebody on the grid doesn't pull a Pedrosa and take one of them out.

I'd say who ever walks away from the weekend with more points.

Just my two cents.

I have a feeling this is going to be spoilt with a 3rd racer in the mix.
WSBK has some other talented racers with nice machinery capable of getting in the mix.

Exactly.........I honestly don't see either "winning" the race. But it would be nice to see both of them duke it out.

I'm in on Baylis for the win (points or otherwise).

I must caveat by saying that I'll believe it when I see them on the grid.

Staying hopeful though Definitely a "must see" if it happens.

I have been watchin' motorcycle racing since Kenny was the "King" and I used to think he was the best ever, while I agree that there are many talented riders in WSBK, let's be real...

There has NEVER been a better rider than Vale.
