Friend went down (Stupid!!)

A good friend of mine went down today. Here is my issue, my friend like his mary jane. Which is cool I have no issue with that at all but with the side affects of her you would think getting on your bike is not a very wise decision right, right! I know there are other riders out there that probley do the same thing, but instead of mary jane it is drinking or what ever. I don't know about the rest of yall but its hard enough the idiots on the road sober none the less haveing a buzz and your timeing being off. My friend made it out of the accident alright but his bike is all jacked up. If I am not making to much since right now its because i just found out about it, and im off. If you are one of these riders or know some one just talk with them and tell them there is a time and place for those extra activites and its not on a bike. We lose enough riders on a regular bases no reason to help the cause out.

Atleast he was wearing all his gear (wear your gear and walk away, if you dont last thing you will see is what you hit)

Ya and with that not only is your life on the line but the people around you as well. I have 1yr old son and if a idiot was to hurt my son because of him not thinking. I would make the guy pay in the worse way.

Unfortunately its a choice we all make.

I drive my cars completely different then my bikes; far more cautious.

Infact, I ride the backroads completely different then group rides around town. Some have ridden w me and hauled azz down the road wondering what happened to me. I have grown a fond appreciation for my life and I wanna see what all I can get out of it before I throw in the towel.

+1 on the original post.

That's why I didn't find the Rally very much fun. To party, you have to drink. But at a biker rally, you have to ride home, so that doesn't mix. I didn't drink a single beer on Saturday. But I made it home without incident

anytime that a LEO stops you and can obviously see your impaired and you pass a breathalyzer or bac at less than .08 then the charge is DUI or Driving under the Influence, it is used for those that are obviously impaired but not legally drunk ( it doesn't matter what intoxicant you use, booze pills, smoke or something else) Understand now?

Depends on how quickly you are getting back on the bike.

Wiki Answers says this:

The length of time after you finish drinking alcohol that it will still be in your system depends on how much you drank and the period of time in consideration. Generally speaking, people metabolize alcohol at the rate of 1/2 ounce per hour (that's half an ounce of absolute alcohol -- or one "standard" drink) -- roughly equivalent to: 12 ounces of beer, 10 ounces of microbrew, 6 ounces of wine cooler (or hard lemonade), 1-1/4 ounces of 80-proof liquor or 4 ounces of wine. Therefore, if you consume three standard drinks -- regardless of how long it took you to drink them -- it would take you three hours to be completely free of alcohol. This should hopefully make it apparent that alcohol builds up in your body over time because the liver can only metabolize one an hour. That's why it is dangerous for people to "chug" alcohol or play drinking games. If you consume large quantities of alcohol in a short period of time, you can quickly get a toxic or lethal dose in your blood stream. Unfortunately, once it is absorbed from the gut (which occurs relatively quickly), there's nothing you can do to "get rid" of the alcohol except wait for it to be metabolized by the liver. "

Coffee won't sober you up, only time will. So again - How long before you get back on the bike? The standard is 1 standard measure of alcohol per hour. Thus - Two beers = Two hours. 4 shots = 4 hours
