Everybody has different opinions and experiences with this.
Frank Thomas are OK, but you will probably want to upgrade. That's what I started with.

I bought a set of Fieldsheer Flex leathers from Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited. They gave me as good a price as you will find anywhere with the advantage of being able to try them on first. They helped me with fitting and answered my questions.
It's a long drive from Pearland (where I live too) but IMHO it's worth it to deal with folks like them.

I'm sure others will feel different but I like my Flex suit, it's comfy and fully perfed for those hot summer trackdays.
Feel free to PM me if you need anything related to getting started doing T/Ds.

Himmilaya. They are wicked cheap as far as leathers go and they're not too bad. I went down in mine and they held up great.

Kobe leathers are another option that is very reasonably priced. Nice leathers. Thick & perfed. 1888fastlap.com $479 right now, free shipping.
