should I trade?

ok I figured I could ask you guys if the trade I am about to do is worth it.

My bike is a 94 Cbr900RR, it needs work, 2nd gear shift fork is bent bad stator and could use a tuneup/carb clean. It's not in the best shape but I'd better then alot. I have been needing to sell or trade this bike for a while it's takng up garage space and I have no need for it and don't plan on fixing it up.

I got a offer today to trade for a JVC 70" LCD HD tv that's 3months old. I don't really have any specs on it but most of the really big the are all going to be compare to each other pretty much.

Should I do it. Don't really need a tv but could probably sell it pretty easy but would be cool to have as well. I was asking around $2000 cash for the bike. You think I could get that out of the tv? Went to frys 2nite and looked at there tvs they have a 73" mitsubishi it's on sale for $2300 and bestbuy has the same tv for about the same price. I do have to say that's a freakin big tv.

Should I do it?

with the economy the way it is, the demand for consumer goods is down...ppl r apprehensive abt buying gadgets. so think abt it before u do it. on the flipside 94 cbr 900 to sell during the winter wd be equally hard, u shld use craiglist as a refrence to see hw the demand of an used tv is. gdluck

I went all over tonight to different electronic stores and the 70"+ rear projection tvs aren't all that bad. I think I am going to do do it. I would rather have money or trade for a car of truck but it seems to be a good deal and I could actually get use out of the tv. Can't really "use" a bike that needs work you know.

As long as it works good 2moro when the guy comes over I am probably going to do it. Maybe it's time to buy that xbox360 LOL.

Bike also needs new registration and inspection so there's another up for me trading

Get the model so you can look up a real price. T.v.s vary so much just looking at ones in the same size really is not doing your price guide justice.

I'd say it's an excellent trade if you were in the market for a tv. I wouldn't do it in hopes of selling the tv tho.

Call a shop see how much they will give you for the tv, or just sell it. Its sounds like a good deal.

My initial thought was "F**K YEAH!" but now that I think about it, maybe not. Sure the bike needs work, but fixing it would be cheaper than the TV. And like they said, with the economy the way it is, the bike could be a real asset in a year or so.
I have a projector, a Mitsubishi HC1500.... I say pick one of them up for less than a grand and have a BIGGER TV for less money than the LCD TV. I have projector set at 75" now, and even in low lamp mode, it's bright enough even with the windows open and sunlight coming in. I've had it as big as 120". Let me tell you, there is nothing more satisfying in the world than watching TV/movies on a screen that goes from floor to ceiling!
I say, do that, and keep the bike to ride!

SO i hope everything goes good tomorrow. I guess i will be getting myself a xbox360 for xmas maybe.
