Heres another one.

CHASSIS
Carbon bodywork, Gastank, fairing stay and clip ons
Braketech ceramic composite oversize rotors
BST carbon wheels with titanium drive pins
Jk design aluminum rearsets, axles and tripleclamps
Mettec titanium fasteners throughout
Frentubo carbon brakelines
Ohlins shock,damper and fork cartridges
Magnesium subframe

ENGINE
JE custom pistons
Carrillo connecting rods
Ported and flowed cylinder head
STM slipper clutch
Modified oem Yamaha crankshaft
YEC wiring harness and ECU
Custom designed camshafts with YEC springs
Lithium ion battery

Result...295 pounds (no fuel) and 145+ horsepower

I'm having a hard time believing that weight figure.
I mean, they have replaced fasteners, fairing, wheels, brakes, subframe and the crank along with a few other parts that likely weigh less than stock, but that IMHO wouldn't lower the weight to less than the Bimota mentioned in the above article. It has a carbon fiber frame and swingarm!

There's a skin kit for the busas Gen I for around 2k for all but the gas tank.

The tank alone is 2k.


But while observing issues w fiberglass and carbon fiber framed vehicles overtime, Id be happy to keep the frame metalic.
