What Kinda Oil

about that time, last time i used mobil and a K&N filter

any suggestions or am i fine with this?

what kind of mobil? what weight? I'd go out on a limb and say it's fine for a 15 year old bike, but your post was so vague i'm not gonna risk it. Just change it on time, every time and you'll be good to go.

I've probably done close to 100 oil changes in 10 different motorcycles using Motul 5100 and never had a single issue.

Motorcycles share the oil between the engine and the transmission. Cars have their own separate fluids.

Im a Motul fan... convinced by Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited and it did make a difference in my shifting smoothness etc. It is mineral based so check w your specific bike forums about their recommendations.
