Actually, that bill was supposed to go to the legislature in the last session this year but never made it to the floor to be voted on. I talked to the rep. who introduced the bill ad he said it wouldn't be presented again until 2007. I think the article was a bit presumtuous.

Althought it would be nice in some cases, no... it's not legal

I'm surprised they published that. It was a bit irresponsible, IMO.

Did it really say the law was passed?

Well if it was stated in a magazine that the law had passed, keep that in reference in case any of us get ticketed for lane splitting. I do it all the time. So thanks for the info !

I would read you the exact contents of the message... but someone already stole the mag from my desk lol

it was on a left-page sidebar so if you see the mag in the stands somewhere check it out.

like any court would give two about some misprint in a magazine. good luck with that defense. for all of you lanesplitters, ride safe guys, we all know most cagers could care less about us. for the record, i hope the law does pass, b/c i would split lanes, albeit very cautiously.

just a little insight on the cagers, do you think they will act differently when the law passes?

your not thinking right you dont use the artical to get out of a ticket you use it to sue the company for what the ticket cost you and for your lawyer fea's and for the money you lost because you had to go to court at the very least 2 times because of a ticket you got because of a artical they put out

If the magazine did in fact print that, then I'm sure a retraction will be posted in the next issue. I doubt a lawsuit against the publisher would go that far.

the mag did in fact write that the law passed.

BUT, THE LAW DIDN'T PASS

and i hope all you "lane-splitters" are actually splitting cars vs riding down the emergecny lane :eh:

and i also hope the law passes, but it will only get to go vote again in '07

I split in traffic daily, but never on the shoulder. too much room to get swereved into by angry drivers. splitting lanes at a slow pace also tends to draw less ire from drivers generally speaking than riding on the shoulder. drivers like to maintain a buffer zone between themselves and other cars..and that buffer zone is usually much wider than a sportbike.

if ticketed I am prepared to retain an attorney and pay the piper...
