Question Help Please!

I have a gsxr 600 that has been having alot of problems with the battery charging at the correct voltage. The battery is currently running on 11 volts which is causing the bike to shut off after leaving it running for a certain amount of time. It should be running at 13-14 volts to allow the battery to charge properly and keep the bike running. I replaced the rectifier and it seemed to work fine and was charging at 14v but after leaving it running for a while I think it shorted out because the voltage dropped back to 11. A friend told me that it might be the stator but as of right now I'm lost. Could it be that the stator is bad and shorted out the rectifie?. I have ordered a stator and rectifier and will replace both once they get here but am I missing something?

that's what i'm hoping. is it possible that the stator shorted out the rectifier? cuz the rectifier isn't charging it at 14 volts?

i just replaced both on my v-max. you should be able to run a test on your stator and see if it is up to snuff
