another encounter w/ bad pigs

well... just got word from my mom, that my father totaled his truck... he was going straight at a light, and a cop in an unmarked police car ran teh light, and plowed into the side of him. the cop says he did not run the light, and that my father did.... funny thing is the cop was on at a metered light, which means that he would have had to stop there before the light would've sensored him there, in order to change to green... but the cop never stopped, he just went through the light....

good luck with this one dad...

seems like lately our family is getting fukd by the law enforcement which is supposed to protect us.

any camera's? witnesses? that sucks. i feel bad for you dude.
hopefully the metered light thing will save his . get a lawyer for this one, get a good one. you get the right lawyer, and you will not only get the insurance money, but also a settlement from them. you know that is why the cop is lying, he knows his will be grass if that happens. too bad for him its going to be worse if he gets caught.

good luck to you and your dad, dude... :eh:

what part of town do you live in...remind me so i can stay the away from there!

...Ive seen many times they turn the light just to run lights. Some just like to abuse their powers. ANd letting dumbass on the squad doesnt help either.
Good luck with the court stuff. And hows your pops?

thats bs, if he don't fight it, then yo' dad must be at fault. There is no way anybody is just goign to say "oh well, my insurance will get it." if they are not at fault. get smart, watch the lights and video the cycle, the start putting the puzzle together as far as times through light and who was where when.
your money though, just my O

Sorry to hear about your dads troubles. I second what Scooter said; video / take pics of the accident site, If the cop was at a "metered" light than that should be easy to show. I'd take it to your insurance and let them fight it out for you with their lawyers.

Now, that being said, I'm going to give my 2 cents on something that's been bugging me.
There are bad apples in all walks of life, from doctors to police to garbage men.
The whole the police thing is b/s. I guarantee the first time most of you get in a serious bind with a real criminal you'll be crying like a little for the police to come help.

No I don't like tickets, , I'll be in court today for one I got awhile back, but I don't hate the cop that gave it to me, and I'll have my chance at court to work it out.

one thing my dad told me is that the insurance companies will do whatever investigating needs to be done... if they happen to find my dad at fault, and his insurance has to pay for all of it... then he will prolly hire a lawyer... the cop has alot resting on this... he he gets caught at fault, and lied he'll prolly get fired from the force!

The 6.0 Powerstroke has had some issues.
I pull a 28' and John pulls a 40' trailer regularly with our Dodges with no problems. Both my father in law and my uncle, both farmer / ranchers, pull 40' stock trailers regularly. Between them they have over 400,000 miles with no major problems and outpull the Ford.

Yes... if you want your dad to get a Powersmoke, make sure it's '99 to early '03. Run FAR AWAY from the 6.0L. I'm on my 2nd 7.3L now.
