New CRF450 and where to ride?

After a little bit of searching, I am the proud owner of a new to me 2005 CRF450. I have only ridden it around the block, but man this thing rips. I cannot wait to get it out on the trails or to the MX tracks.

Anyways, where are some good places to ride on the northwest side of town (or not too far a drive)? I know SHNF is nice, but that is an all day event for me. Looking for some place to go out and ride for an hour or two. Anybody been to the motocross track off 290 in Waller? Any suggestions on where to ride?

You will need a spark arrestor to ride the forest.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have heard that 3 palms is a really great place to ride, I am sure I will head up there a time or two this month. My only problem with that, like SHNF is it is a day long event for me, coming from Cypress. I am sure it is well worth it, but I was also trying to find some local spots to get out and play when I got a free hour or two.

On to another question also, what do you guys ride in gear wise? Does the majority wear the motocross jersey/pants with motocross boots? Anybody know of any good deals on boots?

I am at work now for two weeks, but when I get back I will be itching to ride this thing. If anybody is interested in riding around mid December, maybe we could get a ride together. I will post up closer to when I get back though.

Hit me up when ur ready to hit the forest, me and a buddy or two can ride out from my house and ride single track for a couple hours then ride home

Also, it's only about 45 minutes(max) from Cypress to where you need to be in the forest, not bad at all.
