Lets Ride! Dec. 13th Yankees from Spring

I would like to get a ride going for the 13th out to Yankees Tavern starting in Spring, Texas if anyone is interested. All bikes welcome, even trikes. Kickstands up by 10am, grab lunch at Yankees and then hit a few bars on the way back through the forest.

The route would basically start at Krogers on Spring Cypress and I45 in Spring. Up 45 to 1488, 1774, 105 (kinda boring here), 90, 3090, 244, Yankees. Then 244 into Anderson and 149 back to Montogomery, 105 past the lake to 45 back into Spring.

Im trying to get this together for a buddy of mine who got ANOTHER DWI after the ZZ Top concert awhile back. He has been dying to ride but needs to be in a group of least 5 bikes so he can ride front or middle to avoid the cops. We would like to get at least 3 more bikes. Last time we planned this we had 7 bikes I think and had a lot of fun (had pictures posted in this site for awhile).

Again, all bikes are welcome but it will be a nice easy ride. We are on Harleys and we will both be 2up so we probably keep highway speeds no faster then 80.

Predicted weather now is clear and cold for that day and I will keep a close on it. Cold isnt bad and rain sucks but cold and rain = staying home.

Probably not a good idea to post this in the ride. Just saying, because we like to keep the rides safe without mixing riding and drinking. I'm sure there are some that can handle it but it's not promoting a safe, accident free ride. Just my 2 cents.

HEHEHEHE yeah I think I got in repremanded the last time we did this ride and I posted it here.

To each their own ... they serve alcohol at Yankees also but that doesnt mean you have to drink ...

They ARE biker bars and we plan on stopping ... no 1 will make you drink .. i promise

Can we do the forest/3090 ride below 80?

Doesn't that defy the logics of physics?

I'm not his mom but I am pretty certain he will not be drinking. Last year when we made this ride no one drank. When we did the crawfish ride lots of people drank. Last several years at ROT I can't remember anyone who didn't drink. Again, to each their own.

There are several Biker Friendly Bars on this route. I like to stop and check out the hundreds of other bikes that stop there. If you arent comfortable riding a route where someone might be drinking I suggest not leaving your driveway.

Driving over the posted speed limit is not promoting a safe accident free ride .. sorry.

Its all good Mud. Again there wasnt anything in my post about drinking. Just ignore the part about going to see the hundreds of cool bikes that visit these "establishments" (that also server food and non-alcoholic drinks). I guess if I would have said restraunts instead of bar everyone wouldnt be so up in arms. Oh wait ... they serve alcohol at restraunts also so that doesnt work either ... ummm biker hangouts .. yeah that should work.

Personally I enjoy rallies and biker hangouts. I dont ride just on weekends or just to ride. Its not so much a hobby as a lifestyle for me. I ride rain or shine, cold or hot, everyday .. commute downtown everyday on my ride. I ride to bars, restraunts, movies, just about everywhere except to buy furniture.

I've met a lot of cool people from this site and although I havent been around for about a year I remember the site being much more welcoming and friendly. If you search my post from last year you will see pics of this same ride we did then and even pics of my trashed bike when I was hit by a cage on my way home from work last year.

My point is I was just trying to get a ride together to meet new people and check out some cool bikes. Learned my lesson. Peace!

Dude I am so glad you said something. I have been thinking that the rally was canceled because of Ike.

Ok, cancel this ride ... i'm going to Lonestar!
