well good for you, but you have to admit, those aren't normal activities for a 3yo.

and besides, we're getting away from the point. we're all for kids riding with us, just make sure you take safey precautions. obviously you agree because your kid is wearing a helmet and elbow/knee pads.

XXS will be adequate enough for a 35mph get off. He can almost pedal that fast.

I understand your concern but was talking about low speed, fair weather condition. You might as well go buy full leathers for them too if youíre so worried about safety. This isnít a nerf world and never will be. Each person must assess the risk and make a decision. Lots of thought goes into the 1st ride no matter what anyone thinks

BS on both accounts.

an ill fitting helmet is as good as not wearing one.

and having raced bicycles in past history a 3 y.o. is not hitting 35. nor 20, maybe 10.

Do you really believe that or are you just being combative as usual?? Is a Nolan good enough for these low speed conditions of should they only wear Arai?

if you wear a small helmet and try putting a xl helmet on, you think 1 no matter how tight you think it is that your head won't slide out of the strap and helmet? and 2 your head will be bouncing all around inside the helmet instead of fitting snuggly and acting as a cushion....

thats way different than falling off a motorcycle onto CONCRETE ...

ANYWAY racerx is right;proper head protection and making the kid sit infront (at 3 ) of you not behind you is about the smartest thing you could do ... but yeah congrats on the memories i cant wait till i have a hard head of my own

nope but I know what my 30 mph wreck did to my helmet and it fit me snuggly and I had a bad headache for a few days... I am sure if my helmet was to big it would have hurt more...

ok, i should put almost, since you won't get the road rash associated w/ sliding down the road @ 35. and brena has pointed out the rest.

good to see you put take your childs safety so heavily. not.

her gear so far has consisted of a beanie, to keep her warm and hair out of her eyes, some sunglasses/goggles for eye protection, a thick wooly jacket, long sleeve shirt, overalls and pants, and some leather boots.

we plan on going to cycle gear soon to buy some of their toddler gear, as featured in this month's cycle gear catalog.
i would be open to some kind of harness or something like what nanny x posted, but she has done really well. we just went on a small ride to the park and the library- both of which are less than 5 min from home, and in speed zones not exceeding 35

try and defend your position, your still an idiot. and CPS should be called on your stupid . i was kinda giving you the benefit of doubt that you'd at least put some kinda lid on your kid, but appearntly that was too much.

communicating to a 3 y.o. lol

my neigbors are foster parents, they have a 2 mos old w/ a skull fract. that was taken away from his parents, wonder what CPS would do if they found out you were motoring your kid around w/o a lid and he/she got hurt. prolly the same. they call it child endangerment for a reason and it's a crime.
