Our little girl started riding with her dad at 4. She is now 6. She loves short rides, but the long ones...not so much. We do have a safety harness. She is very comfortable on the bike and will fall asleep.

What an amazing experience for you and your daughter!

i figured if a kid can ride a bike like that, then my kid can probably manage a slow ride in the country.
im still suprised by how well she did
you know when we did the forest a few weeks back we met a guy on a r6 i think any way he had his doughter out with him all geared up and rollin, she was like 9 or 10 but she was rideing with dad! so just be safe!

that guy even said that he could feal her tighten up on the grip when they hit tripple didgets! any way that may be a bit much but hey they have to learn right!

ride safe

stupid to put her behind you. unless you get a buddy belt that straps her to you directly.

how'd you get a helmet so small?

Of course you respond like this, its his kid, his responsibility. Im sure he took the proper precautions to make sure his child was safe.

These are memories the kids will never forget. And I started taking my kids for rides when they were 3 also. Good on you.

Now that my oldest is 5 he's got his own helmet and we ride a little further.

and if his 3 year old got distracted and let go for a brief second, fell, and cracked their head open, it would be a memory they BOTH wouldn't forget as well. no one here is being an , just saying that, if you're going to do it, take appropriate precautions.

i give my 3yo rides all the time, but never without at least some form of head protection (bicycle helmet), and he sits IN FRONT of me, so even if he lets go, he can't go anywhere because he's in my lap.

Same as it he falls out of his wagon, falls out of the tree, fall off the fence. I guess I'll just lock him in the house and make him play video game all the time so he won't get hurt. Just fat and diabetic

way to blow my comments out of proportion. the kid is 3! he won't be climbing any trees or any fences at his age.

well, i agree he didn't ask very tactfully, but he is genuinely curious, as am i, as to where you found a helmet the right size for a 5yo's head? since we would both like to take our(no, not "our" kids) kids out riding with a real helmet.
