i took my 3 year old for a little ride today

im reluctant to even post this because of the potential shitstorm it could create, but the bonding that we had on that ride was worth any message board drama.

we were on a main road for like 100 feet- my road onto the main street to the nearest intersection and then onto low traffic back roads. we kept the speed at a very slow and easy pace. i communicated with her and stopped to check on her every now and then. she sat behind me on my seat, not the pillion. it was a pretty snug fit with both of us on one seat, so she kind of got squished in there, too. she was keeping a nice hold on my jacket's pockets except for one time when she let go with her right hand so she could turn back and wave at mom (awwe).
it was really nice and i dont think i have ever felt as close to my daughter as i did in that 10 minutes or so that we shared on my bike
(awwe)

i really wish i had pics, but alas, i do not.

so yeah, i had to share. it was just too great of a time to not share

My dad used to take me on motorcycle rides all the time when I was young. I always tried to get him to take me through the neighborhood streets where kids that I went to school with lived, so they could see how cool my dad and I were on our motorcycle.

Now the SOB has a lawsuit against me, my sister and my cousin. Ah, memories

man, this was a pretty good response

my dad used to take me on rides with his moped (he was so cool) and i dont think we went on many rides, but ill never forget them.

i think it made me a better rider, too. i have gone down that series of roads many times at high speeds, but rarely ever in the daytime at slow speeds, carrying precious cargo.
i was so happy the rest of the day, i kept doing wheelies (lol, no kid this time)

but I imagine that is precious daddy time she will never forget.

...and will fuel bike interests for years to come. Start 'em when they're young lol.

we thought about using a baby sling or some other way to attatch her to me, but i figured that would be worse in the event of an unspeakable wreck.

That was cool. I was thinking of ways to get my son to ride with me just in the parking lot. He loves it when I take him on my bike at the park in his little seat, but he's still 2 1/2 so too little yet.
I hope to make memories with him too when he gets a bit older!
You gotta post a pic of your daughter waving at her mom!

that's pretty awesome. My lil girl is 3 too, but to me that just seems too young to be on a bike going anywhere. But then again, I probably wouldn't want her on a bike when she is any age riding or driving, especially if she drives like her mother.

any ways its bonding and that is what your sapose to do, just do it responsably! back roads good , glad you had fun i may have to take my 9 yr old out soon, make him put on his motocross gear lol

have yall seen the vids on youtube of 3 year olds and up riding pocketbikes and little dirtbikes and such?
i figured if a kid can ride a bike like that, then my kid can probably manage a slow ride in the country.
im still suprised by how well she did
