i'm sure there were a long list of bad decisions leading up to him lane splitting. you base your distrust of lane splitting on his accident. when lane splitting is done CORRECTLY and in a LEGAL enviroment, it is SAFER for the motorcyclist.

now try to split a couple cars doing well over the speed limit with apparently no regard for anyone's safety, and yes, it will end badly.

I agree with secret agent, racerx and dbuck on this. you were obviously doing something you should not have been doing, with no regards to anyone elses safety. hopefully no kids where in the cars you hit and had to see that.

Good luck on the recovery and hope you learned a valuable lesson. Sometimes it's better to wait those few extra seconds than to ride dangerously and have to pay for it with many surgeries. I have no problem with lane-splitting when traffic is jammed up but if it's just cuz you think you don't have to obey traffic laws becuz you're on two wheels it makes us all look bad. Sounds like you'll have plenty of down time to think about it.

1. Assume That Any Gun, at Any Time, is Loaded.

2. Always Point a Gun in a Safe Direction.

3. Keep Your Finger off the Trigger.

4. Know What You're Shooting at.

Pay attention.

Well its kinda the same idea!

Its all good. We know these people always ride the speed limit, never pass on double lines, always wear full leathers when riding, etc etc etc.

There are some that r real tho.
