Any thoughts on Icon helmets?

I've been pondering on a Icon helmet. The Infernal model really matches my bike. Does any one have any thoughts on them? I ride a Busa, so no track days, but I need to stay "cool." I ride to work and school quite regularly. No stunts...... I think I can get one for around $300. I wear a Suomy, Scorpian, and Shoei now.

I had one about 3 years ago. Lots of road noise, the tabs for the vents broke easy, just cheaply made.

I have all Icon gear and it is great for a street rider, they can care less about track days its all about the streets. The helmet i have is not that noisy at all mine was about $300. but its all up to what you.

sharks are great helmets. my advise is to somewhere and try on everything. helmets have different shaped interiors for different shaped heads. find a good fitting helmet and then decide on a color afterwards

Shark is good though I would recommend buying their higher end models, like the RSX or RSR 2.

Personally if I had to do it over again I would just buy a high end Shark, a Suomy, Arai or Shoei right off the bat. i own an Icon helmet and a Scorpion, like them both, but the fit on the higher end helmets is much better if you ask me.

My brother has Icon, I love the gear but I don't like the helmet he has(battleax?). It just doesn't fit me well, the shape is off. It does breathe well, but that comes with a ton of wind noise.

My father wears a Shark and it's a great helmet, he went from the Exo and I think he actually just got a second Shark.

They will protect your head.......... but all the features suck, they "feel" cheap and the optics of the shield is subpar at best. Like was said the tabs and spoilers are cheap and break easily. I won't buy another but still wear it when my Arai gets gamie.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm going to try and find a Shark helmet to try on. I love my gold Suomy, but purchasing another one or an Arai is more than I want to spend around Christmas. Does 2 Wheel Toyz or Motorcycles Unlimited carry Shark? Hmmm?

IMO ICON is uncomfotable and just feels cheap, not worth $300.........or $200

Arai, Shoei, Soumy, Shark FTW

my Icon is not heavy at all and i tried on alot of helmets if you want to spend $700 on a helmet and can afford do it you are gonna get a great helmet but if not than just buy something that you think fits you well and looks good to you. I bought the icon cus it fit me really good and i love there graphics. you can not go by what everybody else says cus everyone has different likes. I would never buy a domestic vehicle cus i think there but you might think otherwise.
