I have an 08 ninja 250r too. That weird whistling noise is your gas tank..the relieve valve is too small so when gas pressure builds up, it forces through that little holes making the sound. Mine was so small/defective that it actually blocks the tank's pressure causing the gas to stop flowing. I openned up the gas cap and enlarged the holes and now all is good...no more blockage, no more noise.

check every nut and bolt to make sure they are tight something could be rubbing together grease and lube all your moving parts and you are supposed to oil your clutch cable and give it some down by the engine see if that helps

no it wasn't the gas tank noise...it was something else...

will do! but i haven't heard it since Saturday before the chain was lubed..so not sure what it was....

and i would recommend chain lube over gear oil.

honda lube for that fact.
