new guy of the day...

hey everyone! my name is J.R. and i was lookin for a bike club around houston and i was told about this site from the truck club im in, Texas Truck Scene, and so far its very similar and pretty sweet

i dont have a bike as of yet but soon i will, around late january-early febuary, get a 2008 Honda CBR 600rr from Pasadena Honda on Spencer, cause i know a guy who has been working there for about 26 years, and he is gonna give me the hook up on the bike and safty equipment

right now im unemployed but within 4-6 weeks i should be employed as a Harris County Detention Officer (jailer a.k.a. whiteshirt) which is one of the bigger reasons im getting a bike because working downtown 5 or 6 days out of the week, my truck will take 3 to 4 times as much gas as the bike would, parking will be a of alot easier, and bikes are just alot of fun

hope to eventually see alot of you when i get my bike, or maybe even before then... i periodically go to the kemah meets, i saw a few bikes there last night... several gsxr 1000s, a yamaha, and a blue one that i didnt know what the it was

Hello, Dirty. Yes, a bike gets much better gas mileage vs. truck. My SV gets about 50+ mpg and my truck gets <20mpg on the same highway. Plus, my bikes only costs $6 to fill up! Doesn't seem to sting as bad as the $60+ to fill my truck.

Anyway- welcome to it. Take MSF before you get the bike- you'll need it.

welcome be careful however the average life span of someone who commutes to down town houston on a bike 5 days a week is 7 years. add on this is your first bike i'd be careful.

Welcome tho Pasadena Honda is good people, other then the fact I brought them a customer with 9k cash and they wouldn't let him have a 600rr OTD for that. which IMO is laughable.
